Sketchbook Digital

Welcome! This is my digital sketchbook. I use this space to track my progress by sharing everything from polished practice sessions to the messy, unfinished sketches and random notes I generate while figuring things out. Everything here is raw, documenting the honest reality of the learning process.

ABOUT SKETCHBOOK DIGITAL

As the name suggests, the core idea behind this project is creating a digital sketchbook. Over the last couple of years, I transitioned from traditional drawing and sketching to a fully digital workflow. This shift was made possible by the rapid progression of tools that allowed digital devices to become creative and artistic mediums in their own right.

The Drawing Companion

One of the primary tools I transitioned to is the iPad, which I now take everywhere I go. It has become my drawing companion, allowing me to draw anywhere. Beyond drawing, it is exceptionally well-suited for almost any art-related task, thanks to the wide range of artistic applications available today. When I am not drawing, it serves as a powerful device for studying and experimenting.

Bridging the Traditional Gap

One aspect of traditional sketching I missed was the physical beauty of having a stack of sketchbooks filled with pages—where each page offered an intimate insight into the artistic approach, thinking, and artwork of the artist, regardless of the medium used. This was one of the major pillars behind creating this platform: a place where I could upload pages on the go as I drew them digitally, storing, revisiting, sharing, and adding notes to them.

Safe Space from the AI

The sketchbook is designed to be private if needed, so the artworks can remain invisible for as long as I want. Each uploaded page can be set as private or public, allowing for maximum control to decide if I want to make the artwork public or keep it guarded from the internet. Private artworks can still be shared easily using the share button.

Focus and Intent

This space was also designed as a personal haven to step away from social media, which often leads to doom-scrolling and negative distractions. Instead, this project fosters a positive, focused, and self-oriented creative environment. I will continue to update this page with more thoughts as the project evolves.
